No more candidates from prison

Starting from 10.11.2022, persons sentenced to prison with execution for crimes committed with intent will no longer be allowed to submit their candidacies and be elected to the positions of parliamentarian, mayor, county council president, local or county councillor .

Also, beginning summer of 2022, there is also a ban on the participation in the presidential elections of people convicted of intentional crimes.

This prohibition does not apply if there has been rehabilitation, post-conviction amnesty or decriminalisation.
